Why you don't want to stand next to me after a long run...

Gsully sent me this link from Discovery.com to explain that delicious odor that eminated from my running clothes at the end of a long run. I will let you read the article yourself to learn why bacteria love eccrine and apocrine sweat as well sebum, and why that lovely smell is sometimes difficult to get out of petrochemical based performance fabrics.

There is hope on the horizon though...Brooks Running's HVAC material combines petrochemical based fabrics with silver. The silver ions kill bacteria, essentially electrocuting them. After seeing the $98 price tag, gsully concluded that the stink didn't bother her that much.
